DESIGN YOUR BUSINESS TO SUCCEED | 224-402-1068 | email: Robyn.email@example.com
In pursuit of product or graphic design excellence, I combine research, devotion to functionality and artful form-giving with a keen cultural and commercial awareness. Supporting these essential strengths is an experienced, reasoned approach to design and manufacturing. All of my clients needs are unique. I conduct a research analysis of the design competition landscape. I research to see what logos, colors and messages are communicated in your term of art. Once I complete my research I schedule an appointment to discuss your marketing needs, positioning, history, customers, and competition.
This sample is a 11 by 17 format book custom bound. This book was designed using the grid system. It shows my ability to stay within the grid as well as breaking the grid for asymmetrical balance. This book demonstrated gradate type formatting. The paragraphs were formatted using custom math formation to visually deplete the rivers that you would normally see in the paragraph. Rivers are the spaces that you see when the layout program tries to justify the text. Other components used in formatting are the "story," option in in design to visually align the smart quotes. All leading was customized for visual appearance.
ALFRED HITCHCOCK'S Thriller Movie came out in 1954. I re-created this poster because i felt that the old movie posters did not tell enough of the story behind the windows of the movie. This is the Robyn Markcum version. I collaged the stairs and used screenshots front from movie stills. Then used the stills to create a graphic novel feeling. I created the text by hand lettering the words. Used my own judgement on the letter spacing since its all on a screen and I can move it individually. The colors I picked in order to create a mysterious feeling of thrill.
